Romans heritage - Ptuj
Ptuj is the oldest town in Slovenia, with a rich history dating back to Roman times when it was known as Poetovio. Situated on the Drava River, it is famous for its medieval old town, castle, thermal experiences, and the traditional Kurentovanje carnival. Ptuj is also home to one of Slovenia’s oldest wine cellars and has a long winemaking tradition.
