Romans heritage - Ruse

The Rousse region in the Lower Danube is part of the Roman Limes, part of the Tentative List of the World Cultural Heritage, and 10 Roman fortresses are located here. There are two Roman festivals in the region - "Eagle of the Danube" in Svishtov and "Roman Market of Sexaginta Prista" in Rousse. For the first time, Sexaginta Prista is mentioned in a stone inscription from the time of Emperor Trajan in 101 AD, exhibited in the Historical Museum in Rousse.
